The Strand at Headlands is one of the newer communities in Dana Point, California, which offers luxurious custom estates that boast spectacular ocean views.
This 24 hour gated neighborhood is located above the Strand Beach, a one mile stretch that is known as “Strands.” There are 118 multimillion dollar homes, as well as a commercial center, and luxury resort and spa in this community. There are also five parks comprised of 68 acres. The Strand at Headlands is located between Laguna Beach and San Clemente, and is considered to be part of the Monarch Beach area.
Residents enjoy the trails, nature walks, and the beautiful coastline. And many upscale restaurants, stores, recreation, and entertainment are only minutes away. Because of the luxury amenities and spectacular views, homes here rarely come up for sale.
The community is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, which offers facilities like Richard Henry Dana Elementary and highly ranked Marco Forster Middle School. Dana Hills High School is also top notch and opened in 1972 making it one of the oldest high schools in the region. There are also several private schools in this city, such as Broderick Montessori School, Capo Beach Christian School, and Gloria Del Lutheran Preschool.
This neighborhood is close to the Dana Point Marina, which has many benefits for boat owners including, telephone & cable connections, on site security, water, and power. The marina is also protected with double breakwaters. There are over 1,400 slips that can accommodate vessels up to 85 feet in length. There are also many merchants, entertainment, and recreation in the harbor as well as at the Ocean Ranch shopping center.
The City of Dana Point is a popular surfing destination as it has one of the few Orange County coast harbors. It hosts several yearly events including the Festival of Whales that began in 1972, and the Tall Ships Festival which is one of the largest events on the West Coast.
